Competition Guidelines
Competition Qualifications:
If you are a pole dancer interested in competing please read information below as it applies to all USPDF competitions unless stated otherwise.
- Must be female citizen of the US, or a valid Green Card holder
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Fill out and submit a completed application
- Specify in the application if you work the stationary pole or the spinning pole
- Submit a 2-3 min unedited video of your pole dancing skills
- Video submission are preferred to be submitted on DVD, YouTube, MySpace, or Facebook.
- No video attachments in emails accepted
- Video must be submitted by no later than deadline date in order to be approved by USPDF
- Only USPDF members can apply. Click here for membership.
Who Qualifies:
- USPDF picks out 12 final amateur competitors based on their technical skills, flexibility, coordination and creativity.Final Competitors- amateurs:
- are required to choreograph a compulsory round and an optional round- will receive a ‘Finalist Manual’ with details of how to prepare for competition
Amateur Compulsory Round:
60-90 sec choreographed routine where competitors will creatively include all of the following required elements (not necessary in written order)
- 20 sec of continuous floor work
- 2 spins
- 1 upright static pose
- 1 inversion
- 1 inner thigh hold
- 1 split
Amateur Optional Round:
3-5 minute choreographed routine with no required elements.
Dress Code:
No nudity, no G-strings, not thongs, and no tassels. Intimate body parts have to be covered up. Violation of this requirement leads to immediate disqualification.
Compulsory round
- min 5” heel, hot shorts and sports bra
Optional round
- barefoot or heels,
-costumes are acceptable,
-props need to be approved by USPDF.
You will need a tracksuit, sweat suit or warm up suit for awards ceremony.
Music:
No vulgar music, radio edits onlyUSPDF Judging regulations:
- Transitions and technique
- Execution of tricks
- Originality of choreography
- Flexibility and extensions
- Individual style and aesthetics
- Overtime/ under time
- Overall performance
Competitors will be disqualified for:
- Nudity or other dress code violation
- Talking to the crowd or using vulgar language
- Showing any misconduct that will or could damage the reputation of USPDF
- USPDF also ask you not to bring back-up dancers, or any other person on stage with you as you perform your routines as such violation leads to disqualification.
Who wins?
The competitor who brings in the highest combined score of the two rounds will be the USPDF East Coast Champion 2010. She will receive her USPDF pro-status, good for two years from the last USPDF competition she competes in. The winner receives a min of $500 cash prize, and gifts.USPDF gives out up to 3 pro-status based on recommendation by judges.
Film and Photography:
All photography and recording of USPDF events and competitions are strictly prohibited by USPDF, LLC. All photography and footage at the USPDF events and competitions remain the property of USPDF, LLC. The competitors have no right to compensation for photography and other footage made before, during and after the competitions. The competitors explicitly and irrevocably agree that USPDF, LLC can use all footage and photography for promotional, advertising and commercial purposes.FAILURE TO ABIDE BY THE ABOVE MENTIONED RULES WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION.
