For Ariel Xenia, dancing is like breathing. She grew up in Bloomington, Indiana studying ballet and practicing in her living room. However, like many others, she pursued another career in college. Back in 2008, her sister introduced her to the pole world. In 2010, while in her first year of graduate school in Texas, Ariel rediscovered her passion for dance and a lasting fascination with pole. Outside of dance, Ariel is an accomplished educator and a doodling enthusiast.

Michelle is a native New Yorker who has owned and operated ABsolution Pilates Studio since 2005. With a background in gymnastics, a degree in Theater from Fordham, it was inevitable that she would fall instantly in love with pole dancing as it marries her two passions. Her journey began at SFactor 5 years ago, and is currently a student at Body and Pole. Michelle thanks USPDF for this amazing opportunity and is honored to share the stage with these talented women.

Waeli Wang has been pole dancing for 2 years with over 10 years of dance training backing her up. She spent one year living in LA pursuing her dance dreams, appearing in several national commercials and music videos. Waeli is currently studying film production at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is very humbled to be a part of USPDF’s Amateur competition and can’t wait to see what all of the amazing competitors will bring to the floor.

Sarah is the owner/lead instructor at Buttercup Pole Dance in Tampa, FL. Sarah began pole dancing as a hobby five years ago and instructing two years later. In January 2012, opened her own studio. Sarah was a 2011 finalist in the USPDF Amateur competition. In the 2012 Florida Pole Fitness Championship she won “Most Athletic”, pro division. Sarah’s passion for pole dance continues to grow every day, and she cannot wait to share the stage with such amazing talent in New York!

Lara Michaels

Lara

With a background in classical violin and ballet, Lara has performed with Ballet Idaho, and Santa Clara Ballet. She received her bachelor’s in music from the San Francisco Conservatory, her master’s of music from Mannes College. Lara took her first pole class at NY Pole Dancing in January 2011. She fell in love, became Climb and Spin certified a year later, and began teaching at NY Pole in May 2012. In her spare time, she trains on aerial silks, rope, lyra.

Dance was a first love for Tracee Kafer, and with a background of over 25 years of tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, musical theater, and modern in her repertoire, she has now turned feverishly to pole dancing to reach new heights (…literally). It has deepened her attachment to dance as a means of artistic expression. She currently holds the title of Polesque Champion 2011, and teaches at Body & Pole. Tracee is excited to compete for the first time for the USPDF!

Brynn Route is a pole dance instructor with an additional background in gymnastics, aerial arts, and extreme flexibility. Her unique infusion of her diverse training has provided her the opportunity to perform pole and other aerial arts at venues across the US, including the 2012 Indianapolis Superbowl Leather and Laces Parties and Girl Next Door Texas. Recently, she was honored to receive the title of Ultimate Winner in the 2011 Miss Texas Pole Star Competition held in Dallas, TX.

Sergia

Sergia comes from a background in Contemporary, Latin dance, Performance, and Theatre Arts. She last competed as a salsa dancer in the ESPN World Salsa Championships. When she discovered pole, it quickly became her passion and she opened her dance studio, The Vertitude in 2011. Sergia regularly performs as a principal cast member in The Girl Next Door and earlier this year began her competitive pole dance career by taking 1st place in the 2012 Pacific Pole Championships.

Jennifer

Jennifer is a pole instructor for several of the leading LA pole studios, an X-pole sponsored athlete, regularly performs for Zen Arts, and is a principal member of Girl Next Door - A Pole Dance Soiree. Jennifer has previously competed in USPDF, The California Pole Dance Championship, and recently took runner up in the first annual Pacific Pole Championship.

For the past five years, pole dancing has not only been a hobby, but has become a way of life and been the ultimate self-expression for Chalese, aka “Lucky”. Her students and coworkers at Brassy Butterfly have watched as she constantly evolves-sharing her skills and love for dance. Additionally, she is a full-time student finishing her degree in Chiropractic medicine. Her studies there and her love of pole dancing tie together as she lives the reality of fitness and good health.
